Move members in or out

LCR's two monthly reports, read once a month.

Where
People
Who
Bishopric and ward clerk
Time
10 min

Each month LCR lists who moved out of your ward and who moved in. 1stHour reads those two reports, so the ward list (People) follows: who left is marked moved out, and who arrived is added. A welcome can start for each household that arrives (see welcome a household).

You need the report from LCR, as a PDF, a CSV, or the table copied from the page. The bishopric and the ward clerk can do this. Nothing here emails or messages anyone.

To load or refresh the whole ward instead, use Import a list with the Member List (see your ward list).

1. Read the reports

  1. In LCR, print Members Moved Out or Members Moved In as a PDF. One report is enough; both is fine.
  2. On People, tap the arrow beside Add someone, then Move members in or out.
  3. Tap Pick a report and choose the file. Or tap Or paste the table copied from LCR, paste it, and tap Read it.
  4. 1stHour names the report back, with its date and how many people it lists. Pick the other report the same way if you have it.
  5. Tap Review the moves.

A report picked at the wrong door is used as what it is: 1stHour knows it by its title and its columns. Only each person's name, brother or sister, whether they are a youth, and the move date are read. Addresses, phone numbers, ages and units are left in the file, and the file itself is never sent or kept.

If LCR counts more people than were read, 1stHour says so. Check the report for anyone missing.

2. Review each row

The review lists Moved out and Moved in, a row for each person, with a tick and a line or two under the name saying what would happen. Rows left unticked are left alone.

Moved out
In People, with what happens to their callings ("Primary president goes to Releases", or No calling). Not in People when nobody in People has that name, and Already moved out for someone already marked. Those last two can't be ticked.
Moved in
New to People, and whether it starts a welcome ("Starts a welcome with Lena and Ivy", "Same household as Jonas"). Was moved out for someone coming back, who returns with their history. Already in People when the member list added them first: no second record is made.

People who arrive with the same last name on the same day are one household, with one welcome. Tap Own household on a row to give that person a welcome of their own.

Someone moved out coming back starts a welcome again. Tap Welcome again to bring them back without one.

3. Say who someone is

A name LCR spells differently from People ("Marit Brandt" for "Marit Brandt-Olsen") shows as Not in People.

  1. Tap Say who this is under the name.
  2. Pick them from the close matches, or search everyone else.
  3. Tap It's and their name.

The row now acts on that person, and 1stHour remembers the report's spelling on them, so next month's report matches on its own. If they really aren't in People, pick Not in People, so leave this row out.

On a Moved In row, Maybe someone in People? asks the same the other way: pick who it is, or Someone new.

4. Confirm

  1. Tap Continue.
  2. Read what will happen: who is hidden from Due and the speaker picker, which callings go to Releases, who joins People and which welcomes start.
  3. If your ward's welcome checklist (Settings → Your ward → Paths → Welcome, or Settings → Your ward → Welcome checklist for the ward clerk) leaves the first contact to whoever you pick, choose who reaches out to each household, or leave Decide later, on the welcome.
  4. Tap the button that says it, such as Mark them moved out and start the welcomes. Keep it goes back to the review.

Each person marked moved out is marked exactly as Mark moved out on their card does it: their history stays, and a release starts in Callings for each seat they hold, and their name comes off any calling still being filled (see moved out). People then opens on Paths, with a line saying what was done and Open Releases when releases started.

1stHour remembers the rows it handled. Read the same report again and those rows start unticked, with a line saying when it was last read and by whom. You can tick one again. A row counts as handled only while what it did still stands. A Moved In row is offered again, ticked, when that person has since been deleted from People or moved out again. A Moved Out row is offered again when that person has since moved back in.

If the same person is on both reports in one month, moved out and moved back in, only the later move is ticked.
