Find what's missing

When a part of 1stHour, a tab, Help or a Settings row isn't where a guide says.

1stHour shows each person only what their role and their ward use. So when something a guide mentions isn't on your screen, it's usually one of the reasons below, not a fault. Nothing is deleted when a part is hidden.

1. A part of 1stHour is gone

If a part such as Callings, Appointments or Rhythms has disappeared from your app, the bishopric may have switched it off. A part that is off leaves every screen except its heading in Settings, which says Off. Switched back on, everything is where it was.

Some parts aren't open to every ward yet. Those aren't in Settings at all. Signups starts off in every ward until the bishopric turns it on. See switch off what you don't use.

2. A tab is gone

For an organization's leaders, each tab is the bishopric's choice for that organization, under Settings → Your ward → Organization tools. A tab taken away is gone for everyone in that organization, and nothing they made is deleted (see which tabs each organization gets).

If the bishopric changed your role, the change can take up to an hour to reach your phone. When it does, your tabs change to the new role's, and pages the new role can't open no longer open. See changing someone's role.

3. There's no Help button

There are two kinds of Help:

  • Help that answers "How do I…" questions in the app. It's only in wards trying the Assistant, for the bishopric and the clerk, and never on the conducting script (see ask Help).
  • Help that opens these guides in a new tab, for every role. The bishopric and the clerk find it at the bottom of Settings. Organization leaders, the ward mission leader and the bulletin editor tap their initials at the top, then Help; on a computer it's at the foot of the sidebar. The musical director finds it at the bottom of the Music page.

The guides are also at 1sthour.app/guides. Search there with your own words.

4. There's no Notifications row

Notifications and the morning schedule email are for Bishopric sign-ins only. The clerk and the other roles have no Notifications row, by design. In the bishopric, a missing row means your ward doesn't have notifications yet. See get notifications.

5. A Settings row a guide names isn't there

Some rows belong to one role or calling:

Who can sign in
The bishopric and the clerk.
Organization tools and Message templates
The bishopric only.
Paths
The bishopric. The clerk gets Welcome checklist in its place.
Interviewers’ availability
The bishop and the executive secretary.
Morning schedule email, under Appointments
The bishop only.
The Assistant group
Only wards trying the Assistant. AI apps in it is the bishopric's.

The other roles have no Settings at all.

6. Without signal

Only the bishopric's and the clerk's Sunday screens open without signal: Today, the Sunday's planner, its Conduct script and the Bulletin, as your phone last loaded them. So does a member's saved copy of the program link. See no signal in the chapel.

The other roles' screens, such as the musical director's Music, an organization's tabs and the bulletin editor's Sundays, need a signal. Nothing you change offline is saved.

7. Where to get help

  • The guides are at 1sthour.app/guides. They are the only help 1stHour has. Help opens them from the app, wherever your role keeps it (see there's no Help button).
  • What's changed: see what's new.
  • Which version you have: the bishopric and the clerk find it at the very bottom of Settings.
  • Tell us about a problem: Send feedback goes to 1stHour support with the screen you were on and the version (see send feedback). Or write to support@1sthour.app.
